Claims Resolution Arbitration
When you and your insurer can't agree on a number, the appraisal clause in your policy gives you a formal path to resolve it, without going to court.
What is Claims Resolution Arbitration?
Most auto insurance policies include an appraisal clause: a built-in process for resolving disputes over the amount of a loss when you and your insurer can't agree. Each side selects an independent appraiser, the two appraisers attempt to agree on the value, and if they can't, a neutral umpire makes the final call. The decision is binding. This process exists specifically so policyholders don't have to hire an attorney or go to court just to get a fair number on a total loss, diminished value, or repair estimate dispute. We act as your appraiser throughout the process, building the valuation, defending it against the insurer's appraiser, and pushing the case to resolution.
